At the request of the Program Director of Dance USA I’ve organized a session that I’ve titled “‘Can We All Get Along?’ – Addressing Racial Bias in Divisive Times,” for the upcoming Dance USA conference in Philly June 12-15.  My wonderful panelists are Joan Myers Brown, Founder/Exec Artistic Director of The Philadelphia Dance Company;  and Lela Aisha Jones and Deneane Richburg, Co-Founders of The Requisite Movers.  It will be a community conversation. Quoting myself from the online proposal: “This is an attempt to create a ‘safe haven’ wherein an honest discussion based on real-life examples might lead participants to ACT in more informed ways. ACTION BEYOND DIALOGUE is the aim.”   If you are planning to attend the conference, please come to this session. And please spread the word.
